Abstract
The paper deals with European sources of insurance law. In the first part of this paper, we present the theoretical basis for insurance. The first part includes a brief history and development of insurance. The second part contains the objective of the contribution and explains the thesis and explains the notion of European insurance law, the main source of European insurance law, the single European insurance market and finally explains harmonization of insurance law.
